Can AI help Americans overcome the political divide?

In my previous text, I grilled ChatGPT on immigration. I was disappointed that it operates within the same information set we hear daily in the mainstream media. If politicians and pundits got our immigration problems right, we would not have illegal immigration. ChatGPT is not intelligent enough to arrive at that conclusion on its own, yet. It might change soon.

I also spent a few hours interrogating ChatGPT about health care and climate change. Similarly, as with immigration, all questions seeking an evaluation of certain political ideas received elongated responses, which appeared as if written by a slick politician. Polish people would say that ChatGPT lighted one candle to God and another to the devil. It appears that the algorithm was written by youngsters who did not know the old American maxim: If you cannot state your point within two sentences, you are lying or do not know what you are talking about.

Below are three examples of my engaging ChatGPT in how to overcome our political divide. I asked not to bring opinions representing this or that side of the issue. I asked for arguments that could convince a person representing a certain point of view that the opposite side is right. Please let me know if any of the arguments put at least a shadow of a doubt about your opinions on the issues debated.

When reading my questions and the ChatPGT responses, please notice how cautious AI is in avoiding expressing negative opinions. It never said that the core argument for a given position was doubtful because of questionable data or flawed logic. On the other hand, its access to broad data is impressive, and we can anticipate it will be broadened soon. It cannot do it now, but ChatGPT may be able to tell you soon that stupidity, even if supported by millions and signed into law, is still stupidity.

The difference is that ChatGPT will not use that kind of bold language. It will dance around the sensitivities of the recipients much better than opinionated people like me can ever learn. Also, as a machine, it will be less intimidating. Ergo, it can give us a shot at overcoming the national divide.
